A Fun-Filled Community Event at Highams Park Playground

On 1 June 2025, families and friends gathered at Highams Park Playground for a joyful community event filled with creativity, culture, and outdoor fun.

The day featured a range of engaging activities for both children and adults. Participants had the opportunity to try their hands at making clay zongzi, a traditional rice dumpling often enjoyed during the Dragon Boat Festival. This hands-on activity gave everyone a chance to learn more about Chinese culture while enjoying the process of preparing this special festive food.

Another popular activity was scent bag making. Children and families created beautiful scented sachets, adding their own colours, designs, and personal touches. The activity was not only creative but also offered a meaningful way to experience a traditional custom.

The event also included plenty of lively games and sports. The ring toss game brought lots of laughter and excitement, with participants challenging themselves and cheering each other on. Meanwhile, the long jump competition encouraged children to stay active, show their energy, and enjoy friendly competition in the playground.

It was a wonderful day that brought the community together through culture, creativity, games, and sport. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a memorable success.
